Restorative Dental Care
Even with the utmost preventative care, dental decay and deterioration can happen. Although you may brush and floss properly, eat healthfully, and see the dentist regularly, issues can still occur that need dental restoration in order to reemerge with a stunning smile.
By far the best experience I have ever had at the dentist. The staff is friendly, highly competent and enjoy their work. Dr. Bowen is trustworthy and conservative in her approach and an overall wonderful person. The atmosphere of the office makes you enjoy going to the dentist.

I really love Dr. Bowen and her staff! The new office is wonderful and modern, and it feels like a family visit rather than a dental visit every time I go!

Friendly, understanding staff and hygienists, making sure that you’re as comfortable. Also, they were able to get the coffee stain off my teeth! 10 out of 10 for hiding my caffeine addiction from the world!

Restorative Dentistry FAQs
Restorative dentistry helps repair and replace teeth damaged by decay, injury, or wear so you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence again. At our Colorado Springs practice, Dr. Rhonda Bowens takes a compassionate, personalized approach to ensure every treatment supports your long-term oral health. Find the answers to your most commonly asked questions below!
What is used to fix a chipped tooth?
For minor chips, we often use tooth-colored composite resin that bonds to your tooth and restores a smooth, natural shape. For larger breaks, a custom crown can cover and strengthen the entire tooth while blending seamlessly with your smile. Materials are selected to match your teeth and provide comfortable function.
What do I do if my tooth filling falls out?
If a filling comes out, call us right away. Leaving the area exposed can increase sensitivity and risk of further decay. We’ll usually replace the lost filling with a new composite restoration during a quick visit, so your tooth is protected and comfortable again.
Do cavities always need to be filled?
Not always — very small, early lesions can sometimes be monitored or managed with preventive care. But once a cavity progresses into the dentin or causes discomfort, a composite dental filling is the best way to prevent further decay and restore normal tooth function. Dr. Bowen will provide honest advice on what’s necessary for your situation.
What are the benefits of dental implants?
Dental implants are highly durable and effective for replacing missing teeth. They look and feel like natural teeth, help preserve jawbone health, and don’t rely on neighboring teeth for support like a bridge might. Many patients find that implants provide the most natural long-term results.
How Do I Know if I Need a Dental Implant Restoration?
If you have a dental implant that feels loose, looks worn, or isn’t functioning as comfortably as it used to, you may need a dental implant restoration. Signs can include difficulty chewing, gum irritation around the implant, visible damage to the crown, or changes in how your bite feels.
Why should I have restorative work done instead of just extracting the tooth?
Keeping your natural tooth when possible maintains chewing function, preserves surrounding bone, and prevents neighboring teeth from shifting. Extraction is sometimes necessary, but whenever we can restore a tooth and keep it healthy long-term, that’s usually the preferred choice.
How do you maintain oral health after undergoing restorative dentistry?
Good oral hygiene is essential: brush twice daily, floss daily, and maintain regular checkups and cleanings. A healthy routine protects your restorations and helps them last for many years. We’ll also tailor any extra care recommendations to your individual needs.
